Redundant Discovery

Have you ever listened to a song on repeat so much that every time you listen, it strikes another heart string and creates a completely new chord deep within you? The song that has fallen into that category for me this week is Brandi Carlile's Wherever is Your Heart. The live-one-take-acoustic video that they recorded is pretty amazing too. Brandi and the twins are on this really stellar live acoustic kick and I don't hate it even slightly. Check out their other recent: The Eye. And oh man seriously though check out their cover of the Avett Brothers :Murder in The City. Tunes of my heart people, tunes of my heart this week.

While listening to Wherever is Your Heart, I'm hoping that my neighbors in my apartment complex aren't rolling their eyes when they hear the familiar rhythm on repeat as it flies from my speakers on 10th and Grand Street.

A key word that comes up this week is "genuine" While this song thumps through my ear buds walking to bible study, cooking dinner, driving to work or staring at the ceiling I can't help but be moved not always by the lyrics but by the actual notes that are portrayed and belted out. Music inspires in so many different ways. For some reason I am always attracted toward very wholesome, raw and live vocals. It's amazing how the combinations of notes and chords can give you chills. How lyrics can mean nothing to you one moment then hit deep five times into repeat.

Like watching a movie more than once, you always catch something you had missed the first or second time you had watched it. In these observations and continual personal translations, this song also puts a bit of weight on my heart. This song seems to me like a conversation between us and God at times.

A struggle to obey, yet a struggle to pursue Jesus.

"Oh God forgive my mind, when I come home."

"Wherever is your heart I call home
Though your feet may take you far from me, I know..." ["I have strayed like a lost sheep. Seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commands".- Psalm 119:176

"I think it's time we found a way back home." ["Jesus told them this parable: 4 Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and looses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it? And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders 6 and goes home. Then he calls his friends and neighbors together and says,'Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep.' 7 I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents then over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent".- Luke 15:3-7]

I had a friend ask me this  week on a scale of 1-10 how much I was liking Laramie. I answered with a score of 9.7. She thought that was a pretty high score. I explained that it wasn't a 10 because it's been so warm out. I've begun running again which I'm really thankful for and have had multiple opportunities to ride bikes with a friend. I think my California blood is thankful for the mild, but I personally wouldn't mind colder temperatures.

Over this past week God has been teaching me His continual lesson about patience. And while I scratch my head trying to figure out life's lessons, I have met a lot of insight that I honestly have been trying to take lightly and focus more on what God is telling me VS what I may perceive or gain from observation. Finding a church is one of these sub lessons. The calling to come to Laramie is the same calling that brings me to long for and look for a church that God has chosen for me. That sense or feeling of a pull that there are specific people that God places in our lives that mesh certain lessons or zest certain seasons to better shape us or challenge us to seek Him first and foremost.

Extraordinary Steps

I've been in Wyoming for almost 2 weeks now. In my apartment for almost one of those weeks. I've thought a lot about my life path over the last six months and past thought process upon where I have come from and been brought to.

These times that I fall, crawl and struggle to think about where it is I'm headed or have come from or even feel like I'm not moving at all. Just as the Exiles couldn't fully comprehend. It is with in Gods plans to cause strong hold upon Him not ourselves or each other. To not understand but to trust regardless...

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future".- Jeremiah 29:11

I think about a lot of incredible people who have accomplished incredible things in their life times:

Theodore Roosevelt- 1858-1919 :Teddy "attended Harvard, where he studied Biology, boxed and developed an interest in naval affairs. He quickly entered politics, determined to become a member of the ruling class. In 1881, he was elected to the New York State Assembly, where he became a leader of the GOP. His book, The Naval War of 1812 (1882), established him as a learned historian and writer".- Wikipedia

Guys, I don't know if you did that math but he accomplished the things mentioned above by the time he was 24 years old! What?! Not to mention that "He was known for his exuberant personality, range of interests and achievements, and his leadership of the Progressive Movement, as well as his "Cowboy" persona and robust masculinity".

Mother Teresa- 1910-1997: In her early years she was fascinated  by stories of the lives of missionaries and their service in Bengal, and by age 12 had become convinced that she should commit herself to a religious life. ... She left home at age 18 to join the Sisters of Loreto as a missionary... She took her first vows as a nun in 1931 (when she was 21!) and took her solemn vows in 1937 (When she was 27!)".-Wikipedia

Mother Teresa traveled to Ireland to learn English so that she could teach in India! This before she even took her final Vows by 27.

I can remember taking ballet classes with my friend Kristin. for almost a decade we danced together and also went to school together. I had seen her creative mind at work through high school and though she doesn't even realize it, her determination and Thriving has had a huge effect on those around her. She went to Hamilton College to Study Neuroscience. Then she went on to get her Masters in the midst of studying at Oxford in England. Then she proceeded to gain her PhD in Neuroscience from Brown University. She is currently rocking her Pennsylvania accent in Cambridgeshire, England working on some really cool research! She's 27 !!!! Gah! Amazing!

Experience/ Skill level/ Thriving/ Gods Plan/ Forcing/ Surrender

Perhaps we see ourselves as inadequate, failures or ill experienced at the very beginning thought. But let that thought dig deeper so that we may be able to remember  and find the incredible achievements in numbers that we will count on our fingers and toes 300 times over. These achievements are things that God had for us specifically. Just like Teddy Roosevelt accomplished so much by the time he was 28 because it was who God made him to be. In reality, in Teddy's early years he was a very ill child who wasn't very strong at all. But even in the midst of being home schooled he became a Naturalist! WHAT!

God has given me the experience of community, rigorous use of my body to serve and personality to work in specific situations. We have purpose. Thinking back upon childhood dreams of being someone experienced and well rounded, I saw a huge gap. Here I was wanting to experience yet I didn't have any experience or resources to be able to experience. So how could I ever get into the life I desired? I needed patience. Not just personally but I needed others around me's patience. In the middle of the struggles, seemingly strong people enter our lives and change them forever. I feel at times if we're gracious enough and thankful enough that we can reflect back and realize, appreciate and build upon that patience of influence therefore creating opportunity for those who seek strength. God provides this patient strength through those He puts in our lives. To speak into our lives to speak into us because that is a purpose that only that person can fulfill.

I am no different, you are no different...

You. Have. Purpose.

18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 For the creation waits in eager expectations for the children of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by it's own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into freedom and glory of the children of God.

22 We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23 Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption to sonship, the redemption of our bodies. 24 For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

26 In the same way, the spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we out to pray for, but the spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts know the mind and spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God's people in accordance with the will of God.

28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified".- Romans 18-30

Cut to the chase:

Friends it's been an incredible week. Like I mentioned I moved into my apartment last weekend and already I feel at home. That's a huge win. Still keeping eyes open for a couch to go under the map! And clearly some more decor! Send it my way friends! 617 Plaza Court. Laramie WY 82070

Life Divined

The other night I was sitting on a floor of a Wyoming home petting a sweet pup named Fiji. I was sitting in a triangle with 2 other women and we spoke of things. Elements that we thought were crucial in our own lives whether it was personal or something we crave from others.

I was asked what my favorite thing was. I questioned it's context because instantly I thought of my bicycle. (which then made me feel rather selfish...Why isn't God my favorite thing?..This is a topic for another post) The subject matter was defined to me as anything. an element or an occurrence. Something that I yearned or felt was very important to have in life.

I took a few moments to think upon it and skimmed over what I felt I could usually pull from situation and push myself in to question. This specific "thing" is the aspect of being genuine.

The definition of Genuine via Merriam-Webster Dictionary:

Genuine: Actual, real, or true: not false of fake: sincere and honest

1.a- Actually having the reputed or apparent qualities or character.
b- Actually produced by or proceeding from the alleged source or author.
c-  Sincerely and honestly felt or experienced.

2. Free from hypocrisy or pretense.

I am finding more and more that genuine can sometimes feel like a dying natural art. Something covered up because of what we learn here or there. From one another or perceived notions of what is truly right or wrong.

Materialism: A doctrine that the only or the highest values or objectives lie in material well-being and in the furtherance of material progress.

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given new birth into a giving hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4 and into and inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5 who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6 In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief of all kinds of trials. 7 These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire- may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed".- 1 Peter 3-7

We were created to seek truth. People are in Constant search of what is true. We were created to be genuine. So why be anything but? Through these tendencies I have found that if we are not genuine we often put on these fake coats. These things that shelter who we really are and there for hold back or weigh down who God has truly created us to be.

While my first week of living in Laramie hasn't been the coldest... Take note this photo from Tuesdays Bike ride in 59 degree sunshine.

Regardless of the conditions that surround us it is important to remember that who God is shaping us into through these conditions sometimes you just need to take the jacket off and feel the genuine season and remember that it is his will at work with in us.

Tenacious: Persistent in maintaining, adhering to, or seeking something valued or desired.

Question: What are you Tenacious about?

On The Road.

There is a thrill in the middle of lost and found. There is a sense of adventure that I can't really describe about seeing miles pass and creation flow by. Whether you're in a car or on a bike. It's those days of travel to a destination known yet unknown.

I walked up to a counter in the Star Bucks in Portage, Indiana and asked what state I was in. I'm sitting squeezed in the middle of Illinois and Michigan making my way south west toward Troy IL today. Right now this is my Jam. Give it a listen and enjoy the thought of my belting it out in a car on a road in the middle of nowhere Midwest... It's happening, right now!

Call me weird but I love to travel, whatever form it might be in. I love seeing all the people. Feeling small in a world that is so big. Over the last 3 days I have seen and met with some very impacting people. I'm really thankful and awestruck to try and think about how each of these people have impacted my life in someway and think about how each impact has caused a ripple effect. All of striving to be like Jesus. Simply wanting that as a goal.

It inspires and encourages me tremendously, even though every day we come up short, striving and thriving is a beautiful thing.

From PA to Ohio I got to visit with a dear friend who I haven't seen since college. I spent quality time with a dear friend and her little one who cooed and gave me the best smiles. I got to see this incredible woman. Each visit is lovely because we both converse and speak as though it may be our final visit. The best is when the visits happen again. Though she is much shorter than I remember, she is still the Grandma Jean that I have ever spoken to. And she is my only grandparent  pursuing life down here continually to try and help people whenever and where ever she can. She comes with me where ever I go.

From Ohio I drove to the tip of Indiana and Michigan to meet up with this lovely woman below who I have known to never turn down a random meeting spot in a random state, in a random town 3 hours from her home to hang out and chat over a beer. From late night hikes with headlamps and adrenaline to meeting really interesting people in the middle of nowhere, I am always so thankful to have some quality Jamie time.

Headed North to spend some time with Philip the Michigander who took me to see another view of Lake Michigan. I have only seen Lake Michigan (the only Great Lake I've ever seen) from the Chicago side. Though it was too cold to dip my toes in this time and there was uneasy feelings about slipping off massive chunks of ice into very deep frigid, stunning blue water, we were still able to take in the silence of Winter and talk about the impact of seasons and the perspective they give.

Now, it's onto Troy, IL to continue the trend of seeing faces in front of mine after multiple other seasons of life have passed.

Thanks for the prayers and good vibes my friends! God willing I will arrive in Laramie Wyoming on Sunday January, 25th.

Keep 'em coming!

Most importantly:

Keep Adventuring.

Stretch It Out.

Four years ago I had accepted a job in the Redwood forest to teach kids about Gods creation. Life happened just as quick then as it does now. I feel like sometimes that's God's love language to me. Kind of like jumping off of a cliff into deep water below. Sometimes you can't over think it. Sometimes you just have to trust... Maybe that's not the best example. The reality comes back to prediction. I can't remember the last time I ever predicted the most incredible things in my life. Instead they've been random and found with in beautiful messes or chaos.

I randomly applied for jobs in an out of the country with dreams and wonder of what I would be doing 10 years from that moment in late Summer, 2010. I was hired to work in Redwood trees and decided I would drive my old hatchback to California. I made it but a year later that old hatchback putzed out and I was with out a car with a walk for a commute. To loose a car couldn't have been better timed. Just months before the transmission completely dropped I received a bicycle. Later that Summer I would cycle for my first time across the United States.

After returning to California I didn't see a need to have a car considering the fuel economy was amazing via freaky Sneaks. So I spent the next two and a half years with out a car. Here and there I would think about how nice it would be to have a car. Instead to stay sane from cabin fever I would borrow friends cars to leave camp for a few hours or ride my bike out of the valley and into the sunshine of the coast.

I never really felt like I needed a car until now. Even now I know that if need be I wouldn't have the car I was blessed with. But this vehicle provides more opportunity for God to use me as His vessel to unfold this journey continually. (That is my belief)

When I returned from Wyoming in the beginning of July, I was overwhelmed with what was in the works for the next 6 months in transition and moving along. I thought on the subject of the car often but I also knew that I wasn't going to do it by myself.

Instead I had this crazy idea. I will admit I have a lot of crazy ideas. I have these day dreams about amazing things happening. Things like My Mom winning the lottery and paying of my brother and my school loans and then giving me money to just pay out right for a brand new car. Or perhaps acquiring a car would be as simple as writing Bob Goff and telling him my incredible need for a car and day dream the heavenly outcome of being hooked up and taken care of.

The truth is I've gotten my hopes up just to be torn and burned down more times than I'd like to admit. Truthfully I'm just a stubborn child that wishes so much to just be handed things so that I don't need to worry about any of it. Instead just check off the items needed as my life goes along hoping it will become smoother and smoother.

To do lists is are one of my favorite things. Just like when I painted exterior homes years ago, I loved seeing the progress of the physical accomplishments of the work that I was doing. My false sense of seeing fruit perhaps. To be able to cross that task or that chore off of the list so that it is done and finished can be a very satisfied feeling. I'm pretty sure I've grown that mentality with in my work in California because there was a checklist that needed to be accomplished every week.

So even in the transition of decompression over the last couple of months I still felt like my life(in the beginning) was supposed to play out like this:
1. Get the job
2. Get a car
3.Raise the funds
4.Move to Laramie
5. Serve God

Has your jaw dropped slightly? Because mine did when I first thought about it a few months ago with in my frustrations of MY plan not working out the way I think it should. I moved God back out of the picture while making my own plans that meant nothing compared to the potential God has for me if I would just humble myself and allow Him to do His thing.

How is Serve God even last on that list?! It's funny but heart breaking when God is sometimes the last thing that we think about including when we think of succeeding. I know I can be a rather forgetful person.

So I knew that I was pulled in this direction after this Summer experience and knew that something would be changing by the end of the year. I knew that I thought all of these things needed to be accomplished and checked off the list before I could do ANYTHING else. So where to begin?...When I became lost on this subject I asked God what I should do. I asked God to give me a car. While I quickly fell into fantasy about how He was going to do it and then be torn to bits when the door slammed in my face.

Finally after yet another car door had been closed on my nose, I didn't give up. As much as I felt defeated, I felt like I was finally beginning to listen more to what God truly has in front of me. As I explained to people that I knew that God would provide, I really believe that. Outside of what how I wish He would provide sometimes, I know nothing about His plan except that it is meant for good. And with lack of vision but faith in knowing that He WILL provide whether that is a car, funding or a completely different direction to go in, He-will-provide. Just like he always has and always will.

The entire time leading up to all of this stuff was me in a very simple mindset of trying to go the cheapest possible with out taking out a car loan but hoping it would be an amazing new car that is reliable... It's not impossible. It happens all the time. Perhaps it's just not apart of the plan God has for me... Too simple perhaps. God is capable of anything. So that time came and went with a couple of windy months of doors continuing to close abruptly. I felt guilty because I had looked into rental car prices. I can't continue to let myself fall into that guilt. Just because it wasn't apart of my plan doesn't mean it's not apart of His plan.
In fact When I borrowed my dear friends older car to drive my friends to the airport during the monsoon in San Francisco, I was grateful that we had extra luggage at 3 am to keep us from hydro planing. I thank God for preventing us from hydro Planing. It was very real in those swerving moments that I didn't want to focus on a car that I would need to put work into when I didn't feel safe in it from the beginning. But instead I wanted God to provide reliability.

In order for this to happen I could see God telling me that I needed to trust Him. Not just to provide in the beginning but to trust continually.

So I rented a car and drove to Wyoming with all of my things. God upgraded that rental car that I tried to save money on by purchasing a mid-sized. After the rental company called me and asked me to return the car they had given me because this car wasn't aloud to leave the state of California, I was given an SUV that had exactly enough room and plus some extra to move my things across the US.

I returned that rental car in Denver and came home to nerves of looking for cars with my Mom and brother. A few leads but nothing felt like it was solid. I didn't know what was solid anymore. I don't even know how long I'll be in Pennsylvania at this point. These insecurities made the search feel endless. Yet I knew God was up to something. The day after my brother left to head back to New York City, my Mom and I went on another search. This time leading us down about an hour south of us and I test drove a Mazda 3. I really liked the car but again didn't want to get too attached so I hid my interests.

I am terrible at hiding excitement.

We looked at another car after the Mazda and then went home feeling defeated again. Car shopping feels a lot like shopping for jeans. Frustrating and exhausting. As we arrived home that Saturday evening we talked about the Mazda more and more and I checked the times that the dealership would open in the morning... They were closed on Sundays. It's hard to describe the feeling of desperate measure in not being able to return until Monday but yet an incredible amount of relief in knowing that since they were closed on Sundays chances were that no one else would be looking at the car. Every 10 minutes it felt like I kept reminding myself if it is HIS will not mine. I worked my hardest to just let go of all of it.

Monday morning came and I called the dealership saying I wanted to take the car for another test drive while trying not to yell, "Don't let anyone else near my car"!! We arrived and took a drive. I was reminded of the times my parents had purchased new cars and how that always consisted of a lot of sitting and waiting. As we discussed prices. At this point I know that I need to trust that God will provide what is needed for the continual transition of this season. Not just in the beginning, but through this entire season of my life in Wyoming and beyond.

Life isn't a to do list just like getting in shape isn't just a list of things to check off and walk away from on to the next thing. It is a continual exercise of trust and pursuit.

For the last 6 months that has been a huge lesson in my life and again, God is faithful. He is persistent.

God gave me a car. With the gift of this serving tool it adds even more responsibility to what He continues to guide me forward to pursue. This includes:
1.Bringing Glory to God: Whether it is in the prep process or in the performance.
2. Trusting Him: Being reminded of His sovereignty.
3.King and Kingdom: Identifying God as my King, my Savior and what it means to pursue the guiding in building the Kingdom of God.
4. Father and Family: Knowing that He loves me UNCONDITIONALLY and that He is my God, My Dad and that I have the ability to try to love others as He loves me.
5. The Nations: The opportunity to bring the perspective that I have been learning and sharing it with other people near and far.

 Keep trusting...

Stretching Matters

Firstly, Put this song on:
Hillsong United: Anchor

After spending miles on cruise control in the rental car I was blessed to be upgraded to, my Surroundings changed as trees got smaller and plains got wider. Wind more crisp and blue sky's expanding.

It is so hard for my heart and mind to grasp the realities that have happened in the last couple of weeks. As I sat in a moving vehicle for 11 hours to Salt Lake City I found myself taking decompressing breathes in while singing out continual praise of the direction He has me in.

I have learned over the last couple of years that Goodbyes suck. However the more I lean upon the Lords understanding, the more I realize that these goodbyes are more like, "see ya later". Each person impacts and timing is everything. His time, not mine.

Three weeks ago I was standing on the side of a road that became so familiar over the last 4 years. In the heart of the forest as I stood there doing what I've done most every Friday, waving goodbye to faces on Yellow school buses. Standing next to a wet sign in a wet rain jacket being who I have known for the last 4 years. And here I sit now in Pennsylvania, still me. Still a beloved daughter of God, trusting that He firmly has my hand leading me where he needs me... In Laramie, Wyoming

The last three weeks have been a whirlwind of sights, faces and places that have whizzed by and that have also slowly sunk deeper into my heart.

I drove 11 hours to Salt Lake City on Tuesday the 16th. and then continued on to Laramie Wyoming where I literally shook with excitement as the faces I had parted from 6 months earlier where back in front of mine.
My brother being crafty.

I put down a deposit on an apartment. Whoa. That made things more real than ever. After spending a few days in Denver running in an Ugly sweater race with friends and catching a red-eye to Pennsylvania on Sunday the 21st, I am finally home and enjoying most of my time just sitting and resting. Sitting and resting is something that I am really bad at most of the time so I figured now was the best time to practice. My brother came home for Christmas which was a thrill for my parents and brought back some hilarious moments reminding me how much my brother and I are alike in mannerisms.

Upon the turn of the New Year there are many things that I am completely unsure of. However, one thing that I am sure of is that God is good. All. The. Time. I know I've said it a lot lately but it's like listening to a really good song on repeat only I simply will never get sick of the song of His salvation and unconditional love!
I have been praying continually through this transition and I have been encouraged by so many via God speaking through and all around His creation and the people in it. Since being home though life has continued to move forward, I have been waiting to see how God will be placing the next steps down and what that will look like. Through His grace in working on my patience I have been rather anxious. In the midst of it I surrendered it all and reminded myself on a moment to moment basis that it is His will, not mine. No more bartering with Him. Simply hoping and speaking my desires so that they would align with His.

Upon arriving home to my room and flannel sheets I was unpacking my bags and I found a note from a dear friend:
"Daria,
You have exactly what you need to build God's Kingdom where you are."
"the faith, the hope, the trust, the joy... Everything else will follow."-Matthew 6:33

My dear friends, again, God is good. All the time. And He is FAITHFUL!

Chapter Books

The rainy season is officially upon us here in the Redwood forest. It seems like each time we step outside the rain begins. Today however it wasn't rainy, it was a brisk blue sky day. As I sat in the parking lot yesterday waiting for school buses to arrive to pick up our students who explored the forest this week, I sat there and began reading psalms.

"Let all that I am praise the Lord;
With my whole heart I will praise his holy name".-Psalm 103 NLT

Today marks the beginning of my 10 day count down until I depart towards Laramie, WY. Laradise.

My Father God has not been dawdling in teaching. His main subject this month is Patience. I have a tutor, His name is the Holy Spirit.

While it has settled into me more and more that I will soon be departing and transitioning physically from this season in California I am really excited to be heading home to Pennsylvania for a couple of weeks to be home. The last time I was home in NEPA, I was stuck in a vortex waiting and wanting to get back to this coast. Now so many parts of my heart are looking forward to the rest and the joyful reunions of seeing faces and hearing words describe what God's been up.

10 days and yet though there is no car in my clear sight that has been brought out of the wood work yet, I know my God is faithful and there will be an incredible story behind His timing and the falling into place of His desires for this journey, not mine. Just because I'm not given a car in my time preference doesn't mean it's not going to happen. I thought of this scenario as a failing in my eyes. Judgement of many but the truth is that God. Is. Faithful. His timing, not mine.

I'll be departing Northern California to head North East in a car that I don't know yet. A car that God has chosen for me? Or a rental car? Either way God has been providing big things. Big things in the entire reason why I'm heading to Wyoming to begin with. To serve alongside many in the building and cultivating through SROM. I am extremely excited to announce that I am almost to my BEGINNING goal of $1,200 monthly supported! Nearly $60 monthly away currently! The Holy Spirit has been doing amazing things through perspective and teaching and discernment. The ideas and hopes that I put forward are often very different and there are times that I think that I'm beginning to catch on to fully giving it to God and then something happens that triggers my fingers to tighten back around these things surrendered.

I entered into California, willingly to follow whatever path God had for me here and still does. And through it I am blessed beyond understanding and ability to describe. I'm honest when I say I am so glad that I said yes to Him. I am so thankful that I didn't try to LEAD upon MY own understanding but instead submitted to His will for my life for the amount of time that I have been out here. If I had peaced out when I thought I had wanted, there's no doubt that I wouldn't be headed where I'm prayerfully headed on December 16th. And for every single moment of suffering, sacrifice and dim light, I am grateful and praising the Holy Spirit for helping me to cling and rejoice in every single moment that is Northern California and those who surround it.

My bet is that All of this reality will set in somewhere in Nevada. Anyone have any other bets as to when this transition will feel real? As I speak there are boxes in my room and bits and peices of my life scattered all around this forest. I am excited to leave the things that Jesus wants me to leave here and take the lessons learned with me to be a vessel and a servant. I know I will miss it here. I am reminded of my steps upon the water when I first left PA to journey across to this majestic span of creation. I had no idea what was waiting for me at my destination but I felt joyful for the journey ahead and the peace of knowing Gods faithfulness.
"1 Give thanks to the Lord and
proclaim his greatness.
Let the whole world know what he has
done.
2 Sing to Him; yes, sing his praises.
Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
3 Exult in his holy name;
rejoice, you who worship the Lord.
4 Search for the Lord and his strength;
 continually seek him.
5 Remember the wonders he has performed,
his miracles, and the rulings he has given,
6 you children of his servant Abraham,
you descendants of Jacob, his chosen
ones." Psalm 105:1-6  NLT

He is so faithful. To bend, break, mend and cultivate my time here along with others coinciding to make more progress on the tapestries of our souls.
