Chunk It. (A Southern Definition of Throwing)

Today people recognize as "Throw Back Thursday". I'm feeling a lot of different things this morning. I feel nostalgic, feisty, burdened and so joyful. It's officially summer time and it is this time of year where I feel the most destination sick for the open road and two wheels. As some of you might know I have spent the last 3 summers touring on my bicycle to fight oppression and strive to help individuals I've never met through physical sacrifice.

First time riding with these folks in 2012:

Just+Hope= Just+Dope

In 2013 I rode again with these incredibles:

A Humbling, strengthening season that I wouldn't trade for anything in the world especially with these individuals...Every-single-one of them.

This past summer riding down the coast of California with these crazies:

Literally one of the most joyful rides I've ever had mixed with reunions, exposure to new life and continual stretching.

As the most recent Cross Country team for Venture Expeditions enters into the Dakotas these next couple of days I am so thankful to be apart of the continual growing family and body that is Christ Jesus in knowing that He has created us alike in feeling the pull to sacrifice our time and tents to bring hope and healing to many who though we may never meet, God is working through our legs, feet, hearts, mouths and minds to reach those who are lost and in need.

It hasn't ended either. The pursuit that God has placed in my life has continually transformed. I find myself challenged in between blessings and hard places. It is where God continually leads me and through it I have been leaning more on him to direct my steps and words to fight, defend and pursue the continual colinization of bringing Heaven to this broken world.

"When our enemies heard that we were aware of their plot and that God had frustrated it, we all returned to the wall, each to our own work.

From that day on, half of my men did work, while the other half were equipped with spears, shields, bows and armor. The officers posted themselves behind all the people of Judah who were building the wall. Those who carried materials did their work with one hand and held a weapon in the other, and each of the builders wore his sword at his side as he worked. But the man who sounded the trumpet stayed with me.

The I said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, "The work is extensive and spread out, and we are widely separated from each other along the wall. Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, join us there. Our God will fight for us!"- Nehemiah 4:15-20

For the last couple of weeks I have been studying Nehemiah with a group of women from my church and shoot dang has it been enriching. There as been a lot of perspective gained along with relation of Gods faithfulness in what He puts within us to pursue and glorify Him. You should probably read it.

I am continually thankful for the opportunity to yell my battle cry and stand firm in His truths. I am proud to fight for the heart of my King. Finding those who are lost, dusting the rubble and filth off them and clothing them in light through his creation, his majesty...His promises.

 Thank you Jesus!

Grand Canyon

I've been outside a lot lately. And this is the way that I like it. Over this past weekend I've had an opportunity to process through my trips and trainings and reflect again and again on the soviergnty of the Lord and his faithfulness in my life. through his creating he speaks tenderly and he is faithful in the words that he speaks.

"Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life. what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?"- Matthew 6:25-34

"I love WMPC (Wilderness Ministries Professionals Course) Team 1. CAT. 1 Rain Country
I'd like to make it a point that although we weren't expecting rain and we gave Andrew a pretty hard time about not bring shelters and being prepared, he was a good sport about the joking around about the lack of shelters. Andrew is our Executive Director here at SROM and he is a brilliant, well prepared, gifted man of God who I learned a crazy amount from while in the Canyon.

So this is Indian Hollow. That body of water was more than 6 feet deep and wee needed to shuttle our packs via sleeping pad floating across it to those rocks behind Andrew. Team building is a constant. It was rad!
