Boat Shoes and Flexibility

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPI_DIqICP0

To begin is to say that you've stopped somewhere along the way. I've been stopping many places the last couple of weeks to simply look, breathe in and thank God for this continual journey that He has me on.

To catch you up on what's been happening recently I will state that I am still processing through it myself. A month ago today I was approached by my boss and invited to come on the Wilderness Ministries Professional Course that they were leaving the following Monday for in the Grand Canyon. There was an extra spot and Andrew (my Boss) thought it would be an awesome opportunity to be mentored and develope more as an instructor...

Don't worry I said yes. Which is why you haven't heard from me for the last 3 weeks. Life felt slow yet flew by and expidential speeds while I've been away. The trip was incredible and blew many minds with the ammount of rain we got in the Canyon as we began our trip. We weren't prepared for rain but God is good all the time and in the midst and mist of the rain near the Colorado River God blessed us with sunshin to dry our things out in the midst of the journey.

Things I learned:
-As you know I went on a Wilderness Ministries Professionals course LAST summer and the result of that course is why I am currently in Laradise. This opportunity to shadow and learn from two of the best and God driven Instructors at SROM had me both stoked and a bit nervous to venture into this trip last minute. I had found that though I have made progress with in my mentality and identity as a daughter Serving the King, I still felt a pressure within myself to perform. I stripped that off continually through out the two weeks in the Canyon and God was clearly present every 80 lbs pack step of the way.

-While observing and teaching I was blown away by the examples that Andrew and Emily were as leaders on this trip. While learning more of the flow aspect I was also rediscovering what Grace and patience really means from a leader perspective and how much it greatly impacts a team of people. This trip was an incredibly positive example.

-Again, mind blown on the people that God puts in my life and myself in theirs to experience and do life together in this season of learning. I had opportunity to have some good quality conversation with many of the students who were on this course. Which brought so much joy and passion in reminding me one of MANY reasons why God called me to Laramie, WY to work full time for SROM. it's for sure a small perk to experience life in the back country walking alongside students as they discover and rediscover who God is shaping and building them into.

-The Grand Canyon is UHHHH-MAYYYYY-ZING! Seriously... "Mind Blown". I had never been to The Grand Canyon until this trip and 3 days before we left I hadn't thought that I would be seeing it and seeing the deep parts of it the following week. Ugh! You'll just need to see some of the photos even though they don't even slightly articulate the beauty and awestruck wonder of what God has shaped with his hands in this dessert! Praise-The-Lord!

"The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing."- Isiaha 51:3

WFR Training:
After The Grand Canyon I traveled straight back out of Laradise to spend 10 days getting certified for my Wilderness First Repsonder (WFR). It was a really stellar and sobering experience. My brain hurts a little. Lots of information but man was it an incredible learning experience with some really rad people!

Praises be to God, I passed
This certification is huge because each Instructor for SROM courses is required to have this certification to lead trips.

Bonus:
Upon returning from this splendid chaos I got to meet up with a dear from whom I used to work with in California and hopefully she will be moving to Colorado in the near future. Cheers to you Ana. Thank for who you are and your continual seeking and beautifully created heart!

I've also been spending some good quality time with this guy.
It's good to be home.
